Classwork #2

Author's note:
Today during class, we have received our grades for the objective part of the test (75% of the exam) and for the essay (the remainder, 25% of the exam). I got a 95 on the objective part and a 98 on my two-page essay, totaling a 96 overall. Because of my grades and participation in class, I was proposed to change into an honors class next semester. Me and well, it was a secret, so I shouldn't tell. I am eager to check out his exam grades after he posts them in his blog.

Work:
Using the CIA World Factbook, rank the five religions we have been studying by the percentage of the world’s population that follow them. Then, see if those statistics are consistent with what you find on adherents.com.

Ranking of five religions according to our notes:
1. Christianity
2. Islam
3. Hinduism
4. Buddhism
9. Judaism

CIA World Factbook:
1. Christianity
2. Islam
3. Hinduism
4. Buddhism
6(?). Judaism

adherents.com:
1. Christianity
2. Islam
4. Hinduism
7. Buddhism
9. Judaism

In all of the sources, Christianity has been the leading religion, always followed by Islam. But then change placement in Hinduism, where it is placed as fourth according to adherents.com, but it has the same place in both our notes and the CIA World Factbook, third. Buddhism is then different in adherents.com, again. Lastly, Judaism is the same in both our class notes and adherents.com, but is different in the CIA World Factbook. In the CIA World Factbook, it is either sixth place or the place after one of the many folk religions that comes before it.
